If you qualify for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) you must pay annual dues or if you become a Life Member you would pay a one-time dues payment that is calculated based on your age at the time you apply for Life Membership.

If you are an annual member and you pay your dues on your anniversary date of your membership.

Annual membership dues $45 and are due on the anniversary of the date you joined the VFW or the date of annual renewal.

Calabash VFW Post 7288 is a local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), an organization dedicated to supporting veterans, their families, military service members, and the local community. Our Post provides camaraderie, advocacy, community service opportunities, and support for veterans of all generations.

Membership in the VFW is open to veterans who served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces and who earned a qualifying campaign medal, expeditionary medal, or served in a foreign conflict recognized by the VFW. If you are unsure about your eligibility, our membership team can help review your service record. 

You can apply online through the national VFW website or contact Post 7288 directly for assistance. Applicants should be prepared to provide proof of qualifying military service, such as a DD Form 214 or other approved documentation.

Members enjoy fellowship with fellow veterans, access to veteran advocacy and resources, opportunities for community service, leadership development, participation in special events, and the satisfaction of supporting programs that benefit veterans, military families, youth, and local organizations.

Post meetings are held regularly to discuss business matters, upcoming events, community projects, and veteran initiatives. Meeting schedules, dates, and locations are posted on our website calendar and social media channels.

Yes. Family members are encouraged to participate in many Post events and programs. Eligible family members may also qualify to join the VFW Auxiliary, which supports veterans, service members, and community outreach efforts.

Absolutely. Post 7288 is committed to community service through veteran assistance programs, patriotic events, youth scholarship programs, educational initiatives, civic engagement, and partnerships with local organizations that strengthen our community.

Members and supporters can volunteer for ceremonies, fundraising events, community service projects, youth programs, veteran outreach activities, and special events throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities are announced at meetings and on the Post website.
