Past Auxiliary President Honored

Frederick Walton - 6/24/2025

At the regularly scheduled Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary meeting on June 9, 2025, past president Wayne Weszka was recognized, for his dedicated service, with the presentation of a gold past presidents pin and cake. VFW Auxiliary President Cathy Milstead read the citation and pinned on his award. Wayne continues to play an important role in the Auxiliary as a Sr. Vice President. Wayne has been instrumental in running the weekly Thursday night Bingo program for the post, for many years, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Veteran’s programs. Wayne worked hard during his tenure to unite the post and auxiliary members in their common cause of supporting veterans. The VFW Auxiliary’s mission statement is "Unwavering Support for Uncommon Heroes”.

The VFW Auxiliary is comprised of members from all walks of life with a common connection: all are relatives of those who served overseas in a location of foreign conflict. Nearly 470,000 members in more than 3,600 Auxiliaries across the nation work to improve the lives of veterans, service members and their families, and their communities in a variety of ways. If you are interested in joining, contact the VFW at 910-579-3577 or visit https://vfwauxiliary. org/join-us/.
