11 Nov 2020 Calabash, N. C.- At exactly the eleventh hour of the eleventh Day of the eleventh Month of 2020 more than 40 United States service veterans, family and friends gathered at the Calabash Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7288 to celebrate Veterans Day and honor veterans past and present at their annual Veterans Day Observance. An opening prayer was offered by Post Chaplain Eric Johnson who also read a moving poem about veterans. Calabash VFW Auxiliary Chaplain Cathy Milstead sang an opening anthem and also closed with a prayer. Post Commander Bill Hertline addressed the audience with a message reminding us of the the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. Refreshments were served by members of the Post Auxiliary at the conclusion of the ceremony.
