VFW Calabash Post 7288 will be hosting their annual Fish Fry beginning Friday, February 16, 2024. It will run every Friday through March 29, 2024 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. This event has been a community fixture for 19 years and is something both local residents and visitors look forward to.
The Calabash VFW Post is conveniently located at 900 Carter Drive, near downtown Calabash.
Buy your tickets at the door, no reservations are required. Bring your family and friends and take a seat at the dining tables in the VFW Hall to eat in and socialize. Serving staff will take your tickets and serve you a freshly cooked meal. If you prefer to get it to go, take your ticket to the counter and bring a hot meal home to the family.
Although food prices are going up everywhere, the VFW Calabash Post 7288 has kept the price the same as last year. The cost is still only $13 a plate, which consists of a large 8 oz. fried haddock filet, baked potato and coleslaw. Clam chowder is also available for only $3 a bowl. We chose haddock instead of cod, as it tends to be a meatier, tastier filet and a great value for our diners. The bar will be open for wine, beer and cocktails for guests.
In 2023, the VFW served its friends and neighbors 1,315 Fried Fish dinners and 300 Bowls of Clam Chowder, raising over $10,000 which is used to support veteran’s projects. Post 7288 is a proud supporter of community projects and appreciates the public’s support for events like this.
