Post #7288's WWII Veterans to each Receive a Quilt of Valor

Sharon Kossler - 3/11/2018

Jim Quigley was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Cathy Elliott.  Cathy is part of the Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF) and recently moved to the area.  She wants to award a quilt to each of the Post’s WWII veterans.  Her father is a WWII veteran and this is her passion.  She got her chance to give the first quilt on March 2nd at the Post’s Fish Fry when Jim came in for dinner.  She will try to catch other WWII veterans as they come into the Post or visit them at home with their permission.

At the December 2017 dinner to honor WWII Veterans, Post #7288 Auxiliary member Julie Larsen donated a Quilt of Valor which was given to one of the twenty-nine WWII Veterans in attendance. The QOVF began in 2003.  As of March 11, 2018, 182,257 quilts have been awarded.  For more information, go to www.qovf.org.
