Odell Lemuel Norman, 72, of Carolina Shores, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

Born in Richmond, VA on February 2, 1945 to the late John Clarence Norman and Lucy Corbin Norman.

He was a Retired Staff Sergeant in the US Army, having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, a life member of the VFW, member of Order of the Purple Heart, member of American Legion, and a former member and deacon of Potomac Heights Baptist Church in Indian Head, MD.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lorraine W. Norman of the home; a son, Odell Norman, Jr (Susan) of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Eunika Norma of Carolina Shores; brothers Harry King of District Heights, MD, Louis King of Washington, DC, and Reginald Norman of Navarre, FL; sister, Thelma Louise Cooper of Waldorf, MD; and grandchildren, Linus, Lola, and Lilly Norman.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach. Inurnnment will take place following the service with full military honors at the church columbarium.
